Can't blame a girl for trying

Well I've tried and tried to get the kids to tell me what their daddy and them got me for Christmas. I'm guessing that DJ musta threatened them within 2 inches of their lives if they was to tell me because these little elves aren't coming off of it for nothing. My kids always tell me everything but this nope its just not happening. Now mind you little Lacy has the biggest mouth of them all I thought for sure I could get it out of her. She keeps saying "Nehi I'll tell you on Christmas day what daddy and us got you." Well now what good is that doing me now? So I figured the kids will tell Santa wouldn't they? So here's what I did, this is actually a shorter version of what all happened. I went and grabbed the Santa hat that my mother in law got me last year, put a big over sized red shirt of DJs on with a pillow under it of course, then went into the bathroom and grabbed some of DJs shaving cream and put it all over my face like a mustache and beard. The kids were in Curtis room playing I politely knocked on the bedroom door. Lacy answered and I deepened my voice and said " Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas little ones, has everyone been good little boys and girls this year?" Well of course my son just fell in the floor laughing at me, Lacy on the other hand of course knowing it was me just kinda went along with it. She said " yes Santa we've been very good, umm Nehi whats that on your face?" I said "my name is not Nehi its Santa." She said "oh sorry Santa whats that on your face?" I said " its my beard little girl, now whats your name?" She said "Lacy" I said "oh well hello Lacy how are you? She said "fine" I said "So Lacy tell me something" she said "sure Santa" I said "So tell me Lacy what did your daddy, Curtis and you get your stepmother for Christmas?" When all of a sudden my son jumped up off of the floor and started screaming "no Lacy don't its a trick its a trick its really my mommy dressed up as Santa don't tell her!!" Grrr I was thiiiis __ close to finding out!! They then grabbed my hat, tried to steal my pillow and chased me out of their room. Oh well what can I say? I tried, better luck next year I guess. LOL Honestly if she was to start to tell me and which I really don't think that she was going to I would have of course stopped her from saying, it was just fun trying to bribe it out of them both. Oh yeah, while I'm posting seeing how I don't do it very often I thought I would share some pictures of the kids putting up the Christmas tree weeks ago. Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!!

Help Me!!!!

Ok I've added a floating Photo cube to the bottom of my blog only because I cant seem to figure out how to put it in a post. On the other hand I did find a site that will let you add music videos to your blog spot it was rather neato so I changed the song that I had to a different one just in the video form now. Oh and just as so everyone knows I didn't choose this song because of any other reason then the fact that I just really like this song and video, mainly because of all the women out there that if this was to have every happened to you in the past or even in the present or future for that matter. Don't cha wish you could do this and really get away with it? LOL Anyways just wanted everyone to know because I know my husbands family reads my blog spot and didn't want any of them to think that I added this because he was cheating on me, but oh if he ever did may the force be with him if I ever found out LOL Besides I couldn't do that to his truck because I'm the one that's driving his truck this winter so then what would I drive? Hummm.... Oh well if anyone knows how to add pictures like that to your posts let me know. Oh and by the way Melva I added this post just for you because you keep fussing at me for not updating anything so that you would have something to read. Are ya happy now? lol

The rich tooth fairy

Ok so here's the story. My son Curtis has a few caps over his baby teeth that are silver. Well one of them has been loose for about a week now and he just lost it tonight. So he brought it to me saying "mommy mommy look my tooth my tooth". I said wow did you pull that one all by yourself. He said "well no not really it came out while I was eating a nerd." Ok no biggie it was kinda pretty loose anyways. But, here's where the good part starts he said "ya know mommy Lacy (my stepdaughter) says that if I loose one of my silver teeth its worth alot of money" I said " oh really, so umm how much are we talking here?" He said "oh I'm guessing lets say around 7 thousand." Well of course my bottom lip hit the floor with a very large thump I might add. So I said well hunny I don't really think that the tooth fairy can carry that much money on her at one time." He said, well that's ok you can add in the rest." BAM!! Whoops there goes my bottom lip hitting the floor again. I said "well hunny I'm sorry but I don't have anything smaller then a 10 thousand dollar bill" LOL Shucks I don't even know if they make 10 thousand dollar bills I know I sure have never seen one. LOL So I figure whelp if my stepdaughter Lacy is the one that seems to think that you get more money for the silver ones, I figure her tooth fairy must be mighty wealthy so I suggested that her tooth fairy should pay the boy don't y'all?? I mentioned it to my husband DJ and his ex wife Carrie. So far no word on if Lil' Curtis is gonna be getting a visit from the rich tooth fairy tonight or not. But, trust me I'll be sure to let everyone know, so that if y'all go get some caps put on your teeth you'll know where to get the most for your money from. Hey for 7 thousand dollars a pop how could you go wrong? To be continued....

Just in the nick of time

All I've got to say about this is that its a darn good thing the kids and I came home from the office when we did, cause this is what I walked in the door seeing....notice that chili is licking his chops. LOL Normally when Tickles is out of his cage he don't really go any where but to the top of his cage to play on his jungle gym. So it makes me kinda wonder if Chili wasn't saying "oh pretty bird come here I have something I wanna show you, Polly wanna a cracker?" Maybe its time to take the bird to have his wings clipped again huh? When I walked in the door Tickles looked up at me and said "give momma kisses" Which is something I normally say to him every morning and every night before he gets covered up for bed. So anyways I just wanted to share this with everyone I hope you get a kick out of it as much as we did.

Pictures of Chance

Here's a Picture of my son Chances foot print when he was born. As you can see he was very very small. My sister actually took this picture it was her idea to put the quarter next to his foot print which I thought turned out really cute. Your just don't realize how small his little foot really was until you see it next to something like a quarter that you hold in your hand on an every day basis. The next picture was taken when he was just 2 1/2 hours old. That's my hand next to him holding his little hand as you can tell I still had the IV in my hand too. That was actually the first time I had really gotten to see him.
They held him up for me to see him only for a split second before rushing him off to the NICU. When he was born he weighed 15.2 oz. thats not even a pound and he was 11.5 inches long and thats not even as long as a normal shcool ruler. He was so premature that hes eyes were still fused together so he never opened them. So anyways to make a long story short on what lead to his premature birth. I have what is called an incompetent cervix. Of course not knowing this before getting pregnant I had no clue as to what could happen. I had actually went into labor just 4 months into my pregnancy they was able to stop my labor but the only problem was that I had started to dilate I went from 0 cm to 8 cm in only an hour. They kept me in the hospital for a month on complete bed rest then one day my water broke. Welp when that happened there was nothing they could do but to med flight me to a larger hospital and go ahead and deliver. So that's just what they did. He was born in Charleston WV and lived 8 days after his birth. He actually to be so small did really well for the first 4 or 5 days but then made a major turn around for the worse. So after talking it over with the doctors they had pretty much explained to us that at the 8th day the only thing that was keeping him alive was the machines. So we took our son Curtis which was 5 years old at the time to the hospital chapel and explained to him what was going on and that his brother was not going to be able to come home with us. Of course little Curtis wanted to see his brother so the doctors and the nurses let him go into the NICU which normally they dont let little children in there and see his brother and talk to him. At that point they let us hold him for the first time so we all took our turns holding him. But, when it came to the point just hours later where we decided to take him off of the machines I wanted to be the one to hold him. So I held him and talked to him and of course cried hysterically as he slowly and peacefully passed away in my arms. That had to have been one of the hardest things I have ever had to do but, I just knew that he was suffering so much and as much as I didn't want to let him go. I also couldn't bare the thought of him suffering so much. So there is the story of my other mirclbabe too. Now hes my miracle angel.

Lemonade stand contest

Over this past summer Bluefield had their usual Lemonade Days so this year I decided to enter the children in the Lemonade Stand Contest. Now I'm not just being partial here but I do have to admit out of the 8 Lemonade Stands that were entered into the contest ours was by far the biggest as you can tell and the best. Of course the kids didn't win. But, that's ok what matters is they had a blast helping build the stand and of course saleing their lemonade. I wish I had a picture of the big orange sign that they drew. It was so cute it said "Welcome to our Tike Hut Lemonade Sale" notice the spelling in "Tiki" we had to X out the letter "E" and put the letter "I" above it. Everyone thought it was so cute. The above picture was taken close to the end of the sale as you can tell the kids were getting hot and tired they had to take a break sitting on the curb with my brother Dwayne. They started out wearing some cute grass skirts but it was just so hot and yet windy too that they didn't last long. And as you can tell by the time the contest was over the wind had just bout carried our tiki hut away. Especially the top of it. We shredded up a bunch of paper bags and I do mean a BUNCH of them and used some spray on glue to stick them to the top of the Tiki Hut. It didn't take long before the streets of Bluefield was covered in strips of paper bags every where. LOL So after the contest we loaded our Tiki Hut back up into the back of the boxed trailer and took it back to the shop and set it a blaze. I sware I think the kids had just as much fun watching it go up in flames as they did saleing their lemonade.

Fall Pictures of the Kids

Here's a picture of the 3 kids taken last fall. That's Curtis on the left, Lacy in the middle and Matthew in the red shirt on the right. Don't be fooled they just look all sweet and Innocent. These are some of my favorite photos of the kids. So I thought I would share them with everyone.

Some things you might want to know about me and my family....

Well here's a little bit about me and my family. I've been married now for 2 1/2 years we just recently purchased our own home. We have 3 children between us. I've got a son named Curtis that is going to be 11 in December, hes in the 4th grade. I have a stepson named Matthew that is 7 and he lives in Ohio, and hes in the 2nd grade, also I have a stepdaughter named Lacy that lives here in WV and she is 6 and she is in the 1st grade. I also had a son named Chance that was born in 2002 he only lived for 8 days. He was born prematurely actually he was born at 23 1/2 weeks to be exact. I suppose for the most part all of the children get along really well of course they do have their moments were you just wanna ding the bell and say "ok kids go to your separate corners". But, those moments are far and few in between. Thank goodness. So lets see now, as far as my husband and I, hes a certified welder and works night shifts, and I'm an office manager for a local company that goes into the coal mines and repairs their conveyor belts so of course that's a day shift job. So that should answer the question you might have of why me and my husband have no children together huh? Where oh where would we ever find the time too? lol Oh here's another thing you might ask yourself as you reading my blog is why or where did I come up with the name "mirclbabe"? So here you go. Its a name that I have used online for quite some time. In case you haven't already figured it out it stands for miracle baby. It comes from my oldest son Curtis he was born with a heart defect called Hypoplasia Left Heart Syndrome aka HLHS. Hes under went 3 open heart surgeries starting at the age of 6 days old and hes also had 3 heart catheterizations. All of which was done before the age of 4. Over all hes done quite well with this all he's had a few things here and there but for the most part is doing really well. So therefore hes my miracle baby. Well I suppose that's just about all I can think of to tell you right now, I'm sure I'll be adding more and more later on.
