My baby gets braces!!

Well its been a long time coming. Curtis' dentist Dr. Lawson told me a few years ago that eventually Curtis was going to need braces. So today was his big day. After several appts with his orthodontist Dr. Evans from getting measurements to pictures to x-rays to moldings of his teeth they started his treatments today. He seemed to be in pretty good spirts the whole time we were there until they actually started putting the braces on then he tensed up. I took several pictures so that I could make him a scrapbook. Its just not everyday that your baby gets braces. Hes always been so good at keeping his teeth clean and in good shape. Always doing a really good job at brushing his teeth everyday. So I'm just hoping that he keeps up the good work while hes wearing the braces as well. Curtis has got a really bad gag reflex so all of the things they had to stick in his mouth to keep his lips from touching his teeth and keeping his tongue back was not easy for him at all. Grandma went with us today. (my mom) and I am so very glad that she did because Curtis started getting a little scared and was tearing up some. Which was making me tear up as well. So while I was holding his hand and talking to him she took over on the camera and got some really good pictures. Thank you mom for being there for the both of us. I can hear her now saying "that's what mothers and grandmothers are for" One of my favorite pictures other then the one of Mom Curtis and Me that the nurse took is the one of him looking up and the Dr. as if to say "please tell me its over" So anyways in case you can't really tell what colors he chose from the pictures they are green and gold. Actually looks really good together.

Happy B-day Chance Mommy loves & misses you!!

Well today my son Chance would have been 5 years old. Its hard to believe that its been that long ago it seems like just yesterday I got to see his beautiful face for the very first time. Anyway for those of you that don't know about my son Chance here's a shorter version of what took place. It all started pretty much from just a month into my pregnancy. I was in and out of the hospital with bleeding and passing clots threw out my entire pregnancy. The doctor kept telling me that if I could just hold onto him threw the first 12 weeks normally everything would calm down then and it would be just fine. Boy was he ever wrong. The 12 weeks came and went but, just a month later is when my worse nightmare took place. I of course got put back into the hospital with bleeding again they kept me over night and released me the very next day. Before leaving the hospital they checked me for dilating and I was at 0 cm. He put me on complete bed rest for 2 weeks. Well I went to the office where my parents had little Curtis and layed down. About 10 mins later I had to go to the restroom while I was sitting there using the restroom I reach over to grab some tissues to blow my nose. ( I had a bad head cold at the time)to Well when I did that I felt allot of pressure and what felt like a balloon between my legs. So I did what I'm sure every women would have done I put my hand down there feel what it was that I was feeling and was completely horrified to find out that what I was feeling was just what I had guessed. Yelp that's right it was Chances head. Well at this point all I knew to do was slowly push his head back inside of me and holler for my Mother. She came a running I asked her to call for Big Curtis he was next door at the shop working so he could take me back up to the hospital. So he rushed me back up to the hospital I went back to labor and delivery and the nurse that had just released me not more then 45 mins prior checked me again and was shocked to see that in only 45 mins I had dilated from 0 cm to 8 cm. Dr. Lasker gave us a few choices to go ahead and go to the delivery room and go ahead and delivery or try to sew my cervix back up and keep Chance in there as long as possible. So of course we chose the 2nd option. So bright and early the next morning he took me into the operating room and did what they call a cerclodge (sp) and sewed my cervix back up. But only a few weeks after that my water broke and all they could do was to med flight me to a larger hospital and go ahead and deliver. So that's what they did they sent me to Charleston Area Medical Center and delivered Chance a few days later. He was born at 23 weeks into my pregnancy and weighed in at 15.2 oz and was 11 in. long. He actually did really well for the first few days but on the 5th day made a major turn around for the worse. The day he turned a week old it had already gotten to the point to were only the machines were keeping him alive he was in so much pain they were giving him morphine. He started having brain bleeds and some of his organs where shutting down like his kidneys they were pumping him with so many meds and his little body wasn't letting all of the fluids back out. He started swelling and was just in so much pain that we decided to go ahead and have him taking off of all of the machines. We took little Curtis into the hospitals chapel and explained to him what was going on and that his little brother was not going to be able to come home with us. Little Curtis of course wanted to see his brother and talk to him. So the nurses there let Little Curtis come in to see his brother they made sure to cover him up really well so that all of the tubes and everything wouldn't scare Little Curtis. He leaned over and rubbed Chances head and told him that he loved him and talked to him and held his hand while the hospitals Preacher baptized Chance. Anyways I said that this was going to be a short version and it didn't turn out that way. I've posted pictures of Chance in a previous post so this time i decided to take some pictures of some of his things that I still have. The blanket that I have everything laying on is a blanket that a lady made at the hospital and gave it to me that's the same blanket that he was wrapped up in when I got to hold him for the first time. I also took a pic of his blood pressure cuff wrapped around Little Curtis finger just to show how very small it was, and of course one of his diapers which mind you was actually rather big on him and it was still very small as well.

Congratulations its TWINS !!!

Now I will have to admit as a child, teenager and even as an adult I've always dreamed of having a set of twins of my own and well now that I'm in my well lets just say 30's (not even gonna say how far into my 30's) I've finally got them only problem is that my husband says we cant keep them. Anyways I guess you can tell already from the picture as to what my twins are. Now heres how we came about getting these twins. The one on the left sleeping on the couch is Chillie he of course is mine hes the one that the kids and DJ got me for mothers day because I've always wanted a red dachshund but the one on the right is Bobby he is indeed Chillies brother born in the same litter. When we got our dog Chillie my aunt just feel in love with him and wanted one for her and her kids so we gave her the number of the lady that we had gotten Chillie from and she went and got Bobby a few days later. She had him for quite a while but these type of breeds are just extremely needy and it just simply got to much for her to handle. Shes a single mother of 3 boys ages 16,14 and 8 at which one of the boys the 14 yr old is autistic not to mention she also works 40+ hours a week at the Sheriffs Dept. I dont even know where she finds the time to sleep much less anything else. So anyways shes mentioned a few times that Bobby is just getting to much for her to handle and was thinking of getting rid of him. Well you know I just couldnt bare to think that Chillies brother is right here in the same family and might be going to another family so I said that we would take him but if she ever decided that she wanted him back she would be more then welcome to come visit but she ain't getting him back LOL. Just kidding. Boy I'm telling you these boys will be a year old in March and its almost as if they remember each other they play together so well and even cuddle together on the couch just like they would have as small puppies. Its just so cute. But DJ keeps saying that he dont want 2 inside dogs one is plenty enough but I just dont think that I could separate them now that they have met each other again. I guess we'll just have to see how it goes. Also in the other picture of the boys playing in the kitchen just in case you cant read what their shirts say Chillies shirt says "Chick Magnet" and Bobbys says "Stud Muffin" Isn't that just the cutest? Oh yeah and btw Melva I guess we're gonna have to come over and get another family picture made now that we've added to the family again. LOL

Time spent with the family

Hey everyone sorry its been so long since I've posted a blog. So I figured nows as good as time as any to share some pictures and to catch everyone up on what all we did over Christmas break with the kids. So heres some pictures of the kids and DJ tye dying some shirts. I had bought a tye dying kit and some white shirts at Micheals. They had a blast. I was actually really shocked at how well they all turned out. Each one of the kids desined their very own. Curtis decided on the bullseye, then Lacy decided to do the same, Matt on the other hand has his very own ideas he just decided to dab the dye any where and every where kinda made it look like a cloud effect. It turned out really well. DJ did something more along the lines of a stripes hes turned out really well to but he wouldnt model his for me so I could get pictures of it too. How funny I just took a good look at the picture of the kids with their shirts on and look at the look on lil Curtis face. Poor kid looks like a deer in a spot light. LOL

Can't blame a girl for trying

Well I've tried and tried to get the kids to tell me what their daddy and them got me for Christmas. I'm guessing that DJ musta threatened them within 2 inches of their lives if they was to tell me because these little elves aren't coming off of it for nothing. My kids always tell me everything but this nope its just not happening. Now mind you little Lacy has the biggest mouth of them all I thought for sure I could get it out of her. She keeps saying "Nehi I'll tell you on Christmas day what daddy and us got you." Well now what good is that doing me now? So I figured the kids will tell Santa wouldn't they? So here's what I did, this is actually a shorter version of what all happened. I went and grabbed the Santa hat that my mother in law got me last year, put a big over sized red shirt of DJs on with a pillow under it of course, then went into the bathroom and grabbed some of DJs shaving cream and put it all over my face like a mustache and beard. The kids were in Curtis room playing I politely knocked on the bedroom door. Lacy answered and I deepened my voice and said " Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas little ones, has everyone been good little boys and girls this year?" Well of course my son just fell in the floor laughing at me, Lacy on the other hand of course knowing it was me just kinda went along with it. She said " yes Santa we've been very good, umm Nehi whats that on your face?" I said "my name is not Nehi its Santa." She said "oh sorry Santa whats that on your face?" I said " its my beard little girl, now whats your name?" She said "Lacy" I said "oh well hello Lacy how are you? She said "fine" I said "So Lacy tell me something" she said "sure Santa" I said "So tell me Lacy what did your daddy, Curtis and you get your stepmother for Christmas?" When all of a sudden my son jumped up off of the floor and started screaming "no Lacy don't its a trick its a trick its really my mommy dressed up as Santa don't tell her!!" Grrr I was thiiiis __ close to finding out!! They then grabbed my hat, tried to steal my pillow and chased me out of their room. Oh well what can I say? I tried, better luck next year I guess. LOL Honestly if she was to start to tell me and which I really don't think that she was going to I would have of course stopped her from saying, it was just fun trying to bribe it out of them both. Oh yeah, while I'm posting seeing how I don't do it very often I thought I would share some pictures of the kids putting up the Christmas tree weeks ago. Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!!
